This is the first posting on the new blog for the Carnegie Fund for Authors. We decided we would set up this blog to be able to communicate with potential grantees who are not able to log onto our website, still under construction. I'm sorry that I cannot post an application on the blog, but I can give you the address to which you can write to request an application: Carnegie Fund for Authors, Post Office Box 409, Lenox Hill Station, New York, NY 10021.
Carnegie Fund for Authors is a not-for-profit organization created over seventy years ago to offer emergency assistance to writers in financial need as a result of illness or injury to self, spouse or dependent child, or for other emergencies such as fire, flood, and so on. We do not offer grants to complete projects.
The Carnegie Fund has a rich history and a fascinating beginning and we will be discussing that on our new website. Meanwhile, please spread the word to eligible writers in need that we are prepared to make one-time grants to published authors. Our grantees are writers who have been published by mainstream publishers, and we are anxious to help those in need, but our mission is to provide for those eligible as stated above.
Until our website is open and available, we will try to write periodic commentaries and answer questions.
Carnegie Fund for Authors now has a website and can be accessed at https://www.carnegiefundforauthors.org.
ReplyDeleteEligible authors can register, and then either download an application to send in or apply online.
If you have questions, you can ask them on the site.
